10/13PM Albacores-Spanish-Bluefish Posted by Devin Cage at 9:19:02 AM on 10/17/2009
Just in back of the whitewater around the inlet was plenty of 1lb bluefish to be had. Big marks of bait on the bottom and when you got across it you'd load your lines. I worked off the beach and fish a 90ft slough and ran into the alberts. They could be seen on top in big schools working but most of my bites just came in the blind or around a small bait mark. But plenty of bites we did have,we'd load our lines with the 5lb to 10lbers while pulling small spoons. We landed at least 16 or more for the afternoon. A few of the 3lb class spanish mackerel were mixed in as well. I didn't try bottom fishing but with the water temp still in the low 70's the triggerfish would have cooperated.
