 10/4 Fishing Report
Posted by Devin Cage at 3:55:14 AM on 10/6/2009

Fishing along the beaches has been great as of late. I've been enjoying excellent results while wreck fishing,a great sign of triggerfish for the past week. I feel like that'll hold on for another couple of weeks anyway. Bluefish in the inlet and up and down the beach has been nothing but a steady bite all day now for 5 or 6 days. I came out the inlet on 10/4 and places of birds were on breaking fish all the way to the lighthouse. Mixed in with the blues was an occasional 2lb-4lb spanish mackerel. I worked the 60ft range an got hit by the false albacores(5lbs-10lbs) 4 times on the way home with 2 to 3 rods down each time while trolling small spoons. Never had a king bite, don't know where they are, maybe offshore I guess. Plenty of blueline tilefish offshore and some late season amberjacks are still being had with live-bait.
Back in the sound speckled trout fishing is poor.

Good luck, Devin
