Roanoke River May 12th posted by gottaflylee

This is my last report on the Roanoke River this year while I'm here. Lots of fish are still in the river, Was marking them for 3 or more miles down from the "big rock" as thick as I have ever seen them. Fly bite was slow today but the bait bite was steady all day from what I saw. If the water flow is held at the same level as it is now...fish should be here for next week to 2 weeks, if some of you are planning to come down and fish. Today we had a 37 fish day all on fly...slow for here but good just the same. I will try to keep you posted next week but I will be very busy on the 50 footer. MON. take it to Bald Head Island, fish the stream from there on Tues, lay over on Wednesday and prep for stream trip Thurs. Back to Wrightsville on Friday 7 prep for Stream trip on Sat. Hopefully crash and burn on Sunday if that does not book up. I wanted a salt fix, I guess I'm going to get one.
